It's a different sight to yesterday when the big behemoth tree was on the driveway and on the roof! We made a new friend in the wonderful gentleman that came to cut the tree away from our house and had a day of piling brush and wood.
I do miss the tree. There's a new breeze I hadn't felt before that comes into the porch now, and it's a little sunnier, less cuddled in. I guess that's what happens. Poor tree I never thanked it when it was standing there, now I miss it. Unthankful woman I am.
The next task is the tree on the back of the house with power lines tangled up in it. I'm hoping the good folks of Nova Scotia Power will want to help out with that one. I'm not too keen on getting up there with power lines and they seem to think I shouldn't either.
And school cancelled another day! I wonder how everyone's making out. I know every employer is not so sympathetic with these sorts of dilemmas. There is the dilemma of power, the dilemma of getting to work in challenging times, and sometimes the added dilemma of childcare when childcare people get all balled up with the first two dilemmas their own selves! It's a whole domino dilemma effect.
I do like how we all talk to each other and help each other. I admit I don't have much to give in the way of help due to my inept power saw skills. But I did help a student use internet so she could check on her online classes that had started. I guess every little bit.
I wish you all the best with the continuing recovery of Dorian if you are doing that still. And if I can help I sure would like to. No one took me up on my offer to sing a medley of folk songs while they worked...might be that's not the kind of help they were after. Well, that offer still stands if anyone changes their mind. And I do pile a nice little stack of wood too.
Good luck out there
