Well, we are ready to get started with production of our album, the songs are ready, the recording, mixing, mastering is complete, what could hold us up? Ah, you forget about the artwork.
I'm afraid neither David or I have talents in the elusive field of visual arts. We enjoy art, we have ideas of what we might like, but alas, beyond this, at the pen and paper stage for example, all goes awry.
It's a difficult problem. We've been very fortunate to have our graphic designer do some magic in the last two albums and I have loved what he has created. We know him so well, he can do that sort of thing. But that is exactly it isn't it. You really need to know someone really really well that they might be able to convey the images that reflect the music that is so uniquely personal and intimate. I am a little hesitant to ask him again to pull a rabbit out of a hat. He does so much, I don't think I can.
In the case of this new album, there is one other possibility. I really like this photo that our friends found. It might just be the elusive image we have been looking for. The only problem? This particular photo is lost. No where to be found. sigh.
The search continues. It would be lovely to have an album release by May....
Anyway, it's Saturday and it's a pretty good day to be alive, so go do something fun you guys.
