It's done! All the recording, all the mixing, all the hoo haw! All the music related bits to the album are complete as of last night. Now to sort out some album art work, and then get some units made. We actually finally agreed on a title for the album last night too. Are you ready?
"Odd-angled love songs for humans". That's the title. What do you think? Yes? I think yes!! I think it well represents the oddness, the love, and the human connection that binds us all as reflected in the unique lovely songs we have for this album. And can you believe, 15 songs on this album! Wow, it's a long one. One hour and nine minutes of playing time. You're going to get your moneys worth on this one. Well, if you like it. If you hate it you might still think it's a rip off. Ha. I hope you don't hate it.
Actually we are really proud of it. Many of the songs we have been playing live and trying out on people already. Some we haven't, so some will be brand new for folks, but we are pretty pleased with how it's come out. I'd say it's a little more acoustic than some of our albums, a little grittier in places, but lots of feeling, both angsty and lovey. There is a bit more of a dual vocal in some songs as well, so you can really hear some interesting harmonies.
Oh my. What fun. We celebrated our feat last night with some lovely Chardonnay and watched some old Crowded House and Split Enz concerts to inspire and amaze us while we basked in our achievement. Nothing like those Finn brothers. I just love those guys.
Well, happy Saturday yous. I think we'll be revising set lists and sorting out what we will be playing for out next bunch of gigs. Oh, and maybe some album release party planning!! Yeah! Anyway, good luck with your things whatever they may be. See ya out there.
