We sit in the Brisbane airport with coffee and tired minds as we embark on the 14hr journey back to Canada. I am not sure how I will post again for a while since it is such a long way of travel. I guess we shall see. Maybe when we are in Vancouver waiting for the next flight might be a time. I kind of hope there is not too much to report. Drama in a 14hr flight is not my preference, probably not going to be something good if there is drama.
I met a lizard! Sort of. He let me take his picture anyway. This little fella was just hanging out on the sidelines of Southbank Brisbane. I was somewhat mesmerized by how cute he was. I hope his charm comes through in the picture.
And then we had some lovely beers in the Plough Inn. Apparently it's not actually an Inn though. Weird right? Apparently, many of the hotels that claim to be hotels are actually pubs. Kind of confusing right? The Australians I was with agreed that it was a bit strange, but had no explanation for me. The 'Inn' had live music and was open to the night air. And the night was fly-less with the most lovely warm languid air that I could imagine. Perfect. Sipping on the tropical type beer on tap called Stone something, listening to the music being played, feeling the beautiful night air all around us, It feels hard to say goodbye Brisbane. I suspect the night air of Regina will be far less inviting. Ach well.
Home is home is home and we will be plenty pleased to be there. It will be nice to detox a little anyway, get rid of this silly suntan that seems to have happened.... how ridiculous will that look in Regina? And then reconnect with all the people and things that we love.
See you soon Canada
