It's the first day after the Labour Day weekend, it's rainy where we are, and it feels like we are about to begin something new. I often feel like this after the long weekend. Putting away the lazy summer efforts and digging into something in earnest.
Well we are back from the UK. We have successfully moved across the country. I feel like it's been a whirlwind of an adventure, all good mind you. But it mayhap be time to settle in and get serious about an album for next year and fluffing out the nest a little.
We decided to get rid of our couch. I loved it, but it's got a big old case of the mold that I wasn't able to get rid of. Who needs a couch anyway. Well, we'll see. One thing at a time. No more couch.
I am falling in love with the heartbreak of some of the songs we are honing for the next album. It's early days, and I'm not entirely sure how many songs will be on this one. There isn't even an album name yet. But I think it will be special. The songs we are considering for this album all have a beautiful feel and we are going to go for a more raw acoustic edge than ever before this time. We are going for a recorded live feel in hope that more of the song gets translated into the recording.
So. Nest fluffing and recording are on the agenda. We'll still be playing in Nova Scotia all fall and winter likely too but there is work to be done in between times.
See you out there sometime I hope :)
