Oh Australia, you have been larger than life. I don't know when I have experienced so many different things far from my usual setting. Even these bugs. Just look at them! They look like ladybugs almost, but on steroids. What the heck can they even be?! It's a wild place where the bugs and birds are way bigger than bugs and birds of the world I know. And some are vicious! I just learned that the plover that I have been seeing outside the house (much bigger than the plovers I know I might add...) attacks people during nesting season and has poisonous barbs on its wings! Yikes man! I don't want your babies! I guess we can be glad it's not plover nesting season, but still....how many other things do I not know about this place!
We did the amazing charity event last night, and I think they must have raised a giant amount of money. There was a magician, us of course, and another musician Ricky Taite which was good fun. There was a crazy comedian, and amazing food and drink. Not to mention an auction filled with really cool items to help the cause even further. I am really impressed that these folks organized such an event to help support homeless folks by providing them with an opportunity to have a shower and restore some dignity. A shower bus is such a great idea and such a valuable thing for folks that don't have that opportunity.
It's been quite a weekend. I find myself in probably the most luxurious house I have ever been in filled with people from the night before. Again Australia, you do do it big don't you. Oh it was an amazing event. And there are amazing people. Soon I will venture among them. Just as soon as David becomes alive again. He is having quite a good snooze here beside me while I contemplate the world and where we fit.
I wish you a happy day. I think I will extra-appreciate the ability to be clean and fresh with a shower whenever I like today. It's not a small thing. Yay water and soap and electricity and plumbing and whatever else comes together that I get to do that.
