We did it! We made it to the cricket, had some good fun, and even witnessed the end of the game! Remembering that these games often go for five days that is saying something. We were at day three of the match. But the game didn't go the whole day....I was ready for 12:30 - 8:30 pm of cricket and the game ended at 5:00 pm. It was an oven. It was a complete and utter oven. How do those guys on the field even keep going for so so long?
We were seated in the full sun of the oven. Oh my. After a short time in the sun oven, I felt I might die. Luckily the place had empty seats in the shade and we were able to sneak into them without too much detection. Maybe the people in charge didn't care. Maybe they understood the perils of the sun oven and sympathized. In any case, the shade was much better.
Although, guess what other stupid thing I did. Oh stupidity I wish you weren't part of my personality. I stupidly left my phone in our Uber car. Dammit. Stupid stupid stupid. Can you believe it? I decided to just settle in and live with the consequences of not having a phone. We tried to contact the Uber driver and just see....
And then, magically, my stupidity became not as big a deal. The Uber driver was only too happy to return the phone and I had it in my hands only about a half hour later! Wow. Well that was awesome and the experience made me feel all gushy and happy that there were kind people like that Uber driver. He left a picture of himself on my phone to remember him by. How sweet.
Then some stadium people wanted to enter us into a contest to watch some of the game from inside of a POOL! Whoa! YES PLEASE! Oh, I know, I have no bathing suit, but still, I'd do it. All we had to do was get our picture taken and then they would draw us if we won. We actually had two pictures taken to increase our chances. No, we didn't win. We watched in the oven. That's ok. What a fun game with great people. I loved the experience and I'm so happy I got to do it. Here's the pic.
Happy Day - Oh and Australia won! Woopie!
