The good old folks at West Jet landed us safely at Gatwick airport without incident. I always forget how I can't really sleep all that well sitting straight up in a chair. They really don't come through bothering you a lot with various meals and snacks which is so thoughtful of them, but still.
David had checked his guitar and it took its good old time coming out of the oversized baggage shute. We were waiting with a guy waiting for his hockey sticks getting increasingly worried as time went on. I'm happy to report the guitar made it safely and had no horror stories to report. Thanks for that West Jet.
We had about 2 hours to drive after that which I underestimated how tired I might be. I feel like I used to adapt much better to these sorts of things. Poor David had to drive the whole way with me head bobbing, sleeping, then waking up apologizing. Sadly, I think I slept much more than I helped him stay alert and arrive safely.
And then to David's daughter and family with lots of happy hellos and hugs. Adventure begins. I admit to writing this after I've had a goodly long sleep, but you'll probably be glad of that. Everyone is glad of that, I expect. Have a great adventure where ever you are on this bonny Thursday morning.
