Holding your instrument all night long, straining with weight, without complaint, the humble strap.
Thrust to the background, never a star, only peering from afar, the humble strap
Listening, hoping, wishing, moping
Always pulling up the slack, keeping the wild horse on track
The perseverance, the unrelenting and unsung hero, the strap.
Today I would like to honour our straps. They are like jewelry for an instrument in a way, but are often not recognized or even considered for their valuable role in holding our instruments. They cushion our bodies, keeping the night going because of their commitment to the team.
I love you straps. Since it is strap honouring day, I thought I would feature pictures of my beauties that help me so much in playing music. Here they are, guitar strap, Irish bouzouki strap, and of course, mandolin strap. I really appreciate you guys and all the work that you do.
And then some of David's workhorses. All strong, well-made beauties that are getting some credit today. Thank you guys!
In other news it is Saturday, and we can get up to lots of weekend shenanigans if we desire. I wish you happy shenaniganing my friends. Say hello to a strap if you are near one and make it's day.
