Good. I think it's good. David says good for him. Album release day sees the music dropped on all the platforms. The sun looks to be shining. There have been no catastrophic happenings. The show is tonight and I think we're ready.
Of course, there is always a certain yikes factor going on. How could there not be? Will there ever be an album that I'm not terrified to share? Ah the questions that haunt. Don't get me wrong. I like to share. I think this album has some special things in the songs and the sentiment behind them. It's just that whole putting oneself out there kind of thing that aways feels a little scary.
It's like when I refused to write any essays for the whole of grade 8 for my English teacher Mr. Duggan because he would read them aloud to the class. I nearly failed but I couldn't have him reading my personal ideas to other people. Now we write songs and people hear them. How far I have come from that. What do you say now Mr. Duggan?
Oh I think it is going to be a great night actually. We are going to share this album with the people who have supported and cared about us and our music in the space that is the Creative City Centre. Among friends, sharing the things that have moved us into the music of album 6 'Odd Angled Love Songs for Humans'. I can't think of anything better. It's a huge step up from those first couple of releases where we used to just drink a couple of bottles and listen to the album by ourselves in the basement.
Let's enjoy the day.
