We had a great time at Rebellion yesterday and connected with some very fine folks too. I tried the Gin Fizz drink that was for World Gin Day and it was really nice. Boy.
We also wrote a beer jingle for Rebellion if they are looking for new promotion ideas for beer. This jingle came from an idea that our friends gave us that they used to use beer as bait for slugs. They would put out a dish of beer for slugs to come in, have some beer, and then sadly, drown - thus preventing them from eating their gardens. Now, I don't think I can be in favour of this....as much as I dislike slugs, they possibly do not deserve death. BUT....the idea of beer being yummy to slugs made us think it would be a good way to promote beer.
So then we wrote this little jingle for the slug bait lager that I think is clever in its own stupidity. Oh how I love stupidity. We sang it at Rebellion so they could see if they liked it. Seemed the audience liked it well enough. They cheered heartily for Slug Bait Lager. We can share it around though. We play at plenty of brew pubs, perhaps one will want to name a beer and use the jingle. It's pretty fun. If you ask us nicely we would sing it any time you like.
Anyway after all of that silliness we ended up at Shanghai Lily for Chinese food. Now I had never been there and neither had David. What an experience! They were so kind and lovely; they adapted some beautiful meals (possibly the best I've ever eaten...) for us with ultra fresh ingredients and homemade touches. Plus their kind demeanor and family were such a breath of fresh air we could hardly wait to be hungry again to go back! Highly recommend Shanghai Lily if you want the best food and the kindest delivery.
Sigh. Happy Sunday you guys, that's my story.
