Here we are St Patrick's Day. I'm a bit green beer-ed out though I must say. I'll probably still go out and see what's what, but I think a quieter beverage is in order for Janet. Indeed. And I always seem to forget why exactly we celebrate St Patrick's Day anyway. It turns out it's the day St Patrick died. Almost seems rude to be dancing and shenaniganing around, now I remember this (thanks google). I guess at least he is honoured. And people do certainly think about Ireland a lot on St Patrick's Day. As they don their plastic beads and chug their green beer. Drawing on whatever Irish heritage they have to pull out some sort of Irish accent that is probably insulting...(sorry I'm sure I've probably done that...).
Last night we saw the Estevan band 'Hook and Nail' at the Creative City Centre here in Regina. What a lovely night. That room is a beautiful room for music and they sounded great. I really enjoyed their stories, harmonies, and presentation. Nice job all around and very entertaining.
Today we shall venture to Bushwakker's to see and hear the sights and sounds associated with the day. Let's hope this little pounder in the back of my head subsides a little bit or at least gets in time with the Irish dancers.
I know I'll cheer up once we get out and about. It's hard not to be when surrounded by all the good fun that is happening. I wish you all a happy St Patrick's Day. Whether you prefer to be home quietly, or out on the town taking part in the merriment. I do like me a good Irish song. That will probably be the thing that gets me. If someone starts up with 'The Black Velvet Band', I'll be hooting and hollering with the rest. Headache or no. Pain forgot with 'the queen of the land'. Ach. I love it already.
Happy Day yous
