Has happened as of last night! It's sure an interesting type of song... even for us. Poor Eugene. With the singing of it, I felt so immersed in the song I actually got a little teary. It's going to be a different one for sure. The acoustic guitar sounds lovely. Poor David had to put up with me being frustrated with the mandolin part going down. In my defence, it can be very challenging to get something perfectly right when you have someone recording you....watching you the whole time...
The song is slower, it has a folk feel, and a folk story that is the story of poor Eugene's song. It's got this feel most of the way through until this other more intense part comes in. Then the police show up and busloads of people...it all gets a bit crazy on poor Eugene. We have yet to play it live since we really just wanted to make sure it was the right type of audience for such a story song. At some point maybe we might do it for a Facebook Live session. We'll see.
Today we have our errands done so it's time to focus back on recording again. There are at least 4 or 5 more songs to get going on. I think 'The Actor' and 'The Musician' are the next two to work on. It seems like we have already recorded most of the fast paced songs like 'Modern Day Pirate' and 'His Get up and Go', now time for the introspective more acoustic numbers.
I guess lots of people are out and about finishing up their holiday things today. I wish you well if that is you. Luck to survive the crowds and of course, the dreaded Christmas music.
