I think Saskatchewan should be known for it's sun. It's amazing to me how much sun this province seems to have. Beautiful day after beautiful day after beautiful day. It's a shocking opposite to my depths of despair of winter. I took this picture on a walk yesterday, a train, the creek, and the amazing sunshine. No, no leaves yet, but there are buds, and things are starting to happen.
And it's earth day! A day to celebrate this beautiful planet and try and help it if we can. I love that idea and the sun of the day seems to emphasize the point. I love all the hopeful messages of people coming up with more and more ideas to reuse and recycle, repair things, and just use less. It's just this kind of great thinking I would be so happy to get behind.
I heard today that some of the big companies that I had associated horrible earth unfriendly practices are actually starting a reuse system for products like shampoo, detergent and ice cream! Hopefully with dedicated containers for each.... Ha. They probably are... imagine thinking you were washing clothes but really you were giving them an ice cream special...unfortunate....ooooo... But what a great thing this could be. I love that these companies are thinking differently and responding to the important things like saving the planet.
It makes me optimistic. It makes me feel hope for us humans. Whether we actually succeed or not is one thing, but I just love the kindness attitude - to the planet, and to all of it's inhabitants too. More of that please.
Happy sunny Earth Day to us - virtual hugs all around. :)
