Yeah, I don't do it often in winter. It's just so bloody cold. And last night didn't disappoint with temperatures below -20 somewhere, with windchills worse than that, (I didn't actually check how bad it was) I sure felt it.
We decided to wander as far as the Fat Badger and see what the Alley Dawgs were like for live music, maybe have a pint. The walk over was indeed cold, but there was a beautiful moon. I guess possibly some special moon that was happening. I tried to take a picture but failed. I can't even post my fail, it's too terrible. When we reached the pub, It was a welcome relief from cold, wow. Just being inside was great.
We met a friend and got comfy for drinking and listening. It seemed to take a while for everything to get sorted, but when it did, some great interesting songs came out. What a fun band. Lovely harmonies, and a great sound. And although I am not a country music fan, I really enjoyed the song choices they picked and even the pedal steel! I know, that's crazy, but I liked it!
A band from Manitoba were also wanting to sit in for a set, so that was kind of interesting as well. Good players, interesting voices, I liked it. I have no idea who they were though. If they said their names, band or otherwise, I missed it.
And before you knew it, we had to scamper home so that I can get sorted enough to work again the next day. It was pretty cold going home too. Guess that shouldn't be a surprise given the walk over. Hope the car starts this morning.
Happy day yous
